Animal welfare statement

A definition of animal welfare is: the state of the individual as regards its attempts to cope with its environment. Welfare concerns all of the mechanisms for coping: involving physiology, behavior, feelings and pathological responses.

Our policy in animal welfare includes:

  • live in a suitable environment.
  • eat a suitable diet.
  • exhibit normal behavior patterns.
  • be housed with, or apart from, other animals.
  • be protected from pain, suffering, injury and disease.
